ACT/CBT/DBT Class

Taught by Dr. Jeanne Jakob, PhD, ABPP

This group-based (Zoom) educational experience provides the fundamentals of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with additional concepts drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). The class is didactic with Dr. Jakob reviewing fundamental teachings in ACT/CBT/DBT based on her 15 years in practice, and advanced training as a board-certified (ABPP) psychologist. This is a closed class; No additional participants can enroll once the 8-session module starts.

  • Dates:  Fridays (January 30-March 27, 2026)
    • Jan 30, Feb 6, Feb 13, Feb 27, March 6, March 13, March 20, March 27 (NO CLASS FEB 20)
    • Attendance at every class session is encouraged but not required
  • Time: 12:00-1:00pm PST (plus 1:00-1:30 optional Q&A, guided mindfulness, peer learning)
  • Format: ZOOM
  • Class eligibility: California Residents; 18 years or older
    • A complimentary phone call with Dr. Jakob will be scheduled prior to enrollment to determine fit
    • Class is open to general public and mental health clinicians – No CEUs offered
  • Cost:
    • $125/session (paid in 1 or 2 installments)
    • Lyra Health benefits can be applied
    • Inquire about sliding fee options if cost is a barrier
    • Course fees are fixed and will not be prorated or adjusted for missed sessions, absent a mutually agreed-upon modification.

SCREENING FOR ELIGIBILITY: Prior to class enrollment, a complimentary call with Dr. Jakob will be scheduled to determine if the class is a good fit.  This class is NOT appropriate for individuals in acute crisis, or for individuals with primary substance use/addiction, eating disorders, self-harm behaviors, or treatment-resistant depression symptoms who are not in treatment with a primary mental health provider. Dr. Jakob may require permission to consult with collaborating providers as a pre-requisite for class participation.

LYRA HEALTH: If using Lyra benefits, group sessions count against participants’ Lyra annual allotted session count which vary from employer to employer. Inquire directly with your HR/Lyra Health to determine your Lyra benefits.

SELF-PAY: Dr. Jakob is an out-of-network provider for all insurance. Enrollment in the class can be paid in full ($1000) before session #1 or in 2 installments ($500 before session #1 and $500 before session #5). There will be no refunds for missed sessions, except for cancellations due to Dr. Jakob’s unforeseen circumstances.
